Across the country, Shoe Zone has been recycling thousands of shoeboxes by handing them out to customers for Operation Christmas Child.
The response has been great, with colourful wrapped shoeboxes filling the stock rooms as customers return their boxes. Nearly seventy, gift-filled shoeboxes were collected from an East London branch yesterday, just as news reached the manager, Egita’s ears that another forty would be arriving. “It’s such a great idea,” laughs Egita, “and we have been surprised by how many people in this area are involved, from groups to individuals, many people have returned with shoeboxes filled!”
