At the age of 89, Joan Hampton is registered blind and disabled. She rarely gets a chance to leave her house, but that doesn’t stop her from helping children overseas through Operation Christmas Child.

Her lack of sight may mean no television, but it doesn’t stop her from knitting hats. Each time Joan’s daughter comes to visit, Joan is delighted to present her with a big bag of hats and so far she has knitted over 100! This Christmas, Joan’s hats will be on the heads of children in countries like Serbia, children who may never have received a Christmas present before.

And this is what Operation Christmas Child is all about, giving individuals in the UK the chance to send their love to children in need overseas. It’s simple and yet wonderful.

Thank you Joan for all your hard work!
