Because of you, children across the world are dancing with joy. Because of you, children are running around in excitement showing off their gifts. Every shoebox speaks love into a child’s life, a child like Marsha…
Opening her shoebox, little Marsha bursts into giggles. “Are these all for me?” Squealing she pulls on pink gloves and holds up a fluffy purple bag. Marsha is only 6 years old and yet already she knows what it means to be alone. With her mother in prison, Marsha is living in a children’s shelter in Belarus until a new family can be found for her. Nodding, Marsha explains, “Yes, I want to be in a family.” Holding her favourite present in her hands she says, “I love everything in my shoebox, but especially my doll with orange hair. I will call her Mumma!”
