The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Operation Christmas Child is the world's largest children's Christmas project, run by the Christian charity Samaritan's Purse. We have been sending gift-filled shoeboxes around the world since 1990, bringing joy and the hope of Jesus Christ into the lives of over 100 million underprivileged children.
Last year, children and adults from across the UK got involved - including many churches, schools and workplaces - wrapping, packing and sending nearly 1 million shoeboxes full of gifts to disadvantaged children in Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Giving a shoebox gift is really quite simple. You wrap and pack it, we check and send it, and our in-country partners deliver it. It starts in your hands and ends up in theirs.
Find out more about the remarkable journey of a shoebox - which ends up with a child in need experiencing God's love through a simple Christmas gift.
1. Order or download your FREE Operation Christmas Child resources - including our leaflets which explain how to pack your shoebox and include a boy/girl stickers for your box.
2. Encourage everyone in your group to get hold of an empty shoebox, fill it with gifts, and gather them together together before November 18th. (Don't forget to remind them to make their £3 donation online to help their shoebox get where it needs to go). If you can't find shoeboxes, you can now order our new decorative flat-packed GO boxes to share with friends.
3. Arrange for your shoeboxes to be collected sometime after November 18th (we will give you a call if you are part of a group). Your boxes will then be processed by our volunteers before being sent out for distribution to children in need.
